George Sodder, an Italian immigrant with strong anti-Mussolini sentiments, believed his political views might have made him a target. Some theories suggested the possibility of Mafia involvement or retribution for his vocal opposition to Mussolini’s regime.
Determined to uncover the truth, George and Jennie Sodder never stopped searching. They erected a billboard with their children’s photographs, hoping for any information. Reported sightings across the country kept their hope alive—tantalizing glimpses of potential survival.
